About the Client
Our client is a public accounting and advisory firm based in California, USA, that is growing its offshore team to support audit, tax, accounting, and advisory functions. This role exists to help deliver high-quality client service by supporting financial reporting, compliance, and business advisory engagements across a diverse portfolio of privately held businesses, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals.
The Role
As a US Tax Associate, this role supports the preparation of individual, business, and partnership tax returns while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of client work. The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of US tax regulations, assist with tax research and documentation, and work closely with senior team members to support client engagements.
What You'll Do
Prepare and review US individual, partnership, S-corp, and corporate tax returns
Handle moderate-complexity tax engagements with minimal supervision
Review workpapers and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US tax standards
Conduct tax research and apply findings to client-specific scenarios
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data and tax filings
Communicate with senior staff and managers on technical tax matters and client issues
Ensure timely filing and adherence to federal and state tax deadlines
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US tax laws and regulatory changes
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related course
experience preparing and/or reviewing US individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S)
Good understanding of US federal and state tax regulations and filing requirements
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, UltraTax, Lacerte, or similar) is an advantage
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in tax computations and workpapers
Excellent communication skills
