About the Client
Our client is an accounting firm based in New Zealand, growing their existing offshore team to support their accounting function. They work closely with a portfolio of clients, helping them maintain accurate financial records, meet compliance requirements, and gain greater visibility over their financial performance. This role exists to ensure the smooth delivery of bookkeeping, accounts administration, and financial reporting services across multiple client accounts.
The Role
As a Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance requirements, and helping clients stay on top of their day-to-day financial operations. You'll work across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting, and cashflow management while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency. Success in this role comes from delivering accurate work, meeting deadlines, and providing dependable support to both clients and internal stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Process accounts payable transactions, including supplier invoices, payment batches, and reconciliations
Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment allocation, and debtor follow-ups
Record and reconcile daily financial transactions across multiple accounts
Prepare and lodge GST, PAYE, and other compliance-related reports
Assist with cashflow forecasting, budgeting, and variance reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for clients
Support month-end processes, including accruals and journal entries
Maintain accurate client records and assist with financial administration tasks
Contribute to system improvements, automation initiatives, and process enhancement projects
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration, or a similar accounting support role
Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping principles
Experience using accounting software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
Working knowledge of GST, PAYE, and payroll processes
Strong organizational and time management skills
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Professional written and verbal communication skills
A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and teamwork
Nice to Have
Experience using Xero
Exposure to cashflow forecasting and budgeting processes
Experience supporting multiple clients or entities simultaneously
Involvement in process improvement or automation initiatives
