About the Client
Our client is an accounting software and services business operating across New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other global markets. They are growing their existing offshore team to support their data migration function, helping businesses transition smoothly to modern accounting platforms. This role exists to ensure client financial data is accurately migrated, validated, and configured, enabling customers to confidently adopt new systems with minimal disruption.
The Role
As a Data Migration Specialist, you'll play a critical role in helping clients transition their financial information from legacy systems to modern accounting platforms. You'll work closely with clients, internal teams, and implementation specialists to ensure data migrations are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Success in this role means delivering seamless migration experiences, maintaining high data integrity standards, and providing exceptional support throughout the onboarding journey.
What You'll Do
Assist clients with migrating financial data, including conversion balances, historical transactions, payroll information, and other key datasets
Validate, cleanse, and reconcile migrated data to ensure accuracy and completeness
Handle customer queries, technical questions, and migration-related escalations
Liaise with internal stakeholders to coordinate migration timelines and project requirements
Participate in regular meetings with implementation, partner, and account management teams
Manage support tickets and customer requests within established service levels
Update and maintain CRM records and migration documentation
Support the ongoing improvement of migration processes, procedures, and client onboarding workflows
What We're Looking For
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transactions
Previous experience working with accounting software and financial data
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including functions, pivot tables, and data analysis
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Proactive problem-solving mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Nice to Have
Experience with accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar systems
Background in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance-related roles
Experience in software implementation, onboarding, or data migration projects
Familiarity with CRM systems and customer support platforms
