About The Back Room
We exist to free our clients' time so they can focus on what they do best — growing their business. We deliver smart, efficient solutions that liberate teams from the everyday admin, and we hold ourselves to the same standard. Time is the ultimate currency, and we treat it like it.
About the Client
Our client is Burkland Associates, a US-based accounting and finance firm that serves high-growth startups across SaaS, fintech, and biotech. Their clients have collectively raised over $17.8B — and they're building the offshore team that helps make that growth possible. This role exists to bring deep ERP expertise to a firm that runs on it.
About the Finance Systems Team
The Finance Systems team is responsible for delivering ERP implementations, configurations, and optimisations across Burkland's client base. They work closely with founders, CFOs, and internal accounting teams to build the financial infrastructure that growing startups need. As the team expands its offshore capability, we're looking for someone who can own implementations from scoping to go-live — and everything in between.
The Role
This is an individual contributor role for an experienced ERP professional who knows their way around NetSuite and wants to put that expertise to work across a portfolio of high-growth US startups. You'll own end-to-end implementations, support monthly close, manage integrations, and translate complex system decisions into plain language for founders and finance teams who didn't grow up in an ERP. Success in the first six to twelve months looks like implementations delivered on time, clients who trust your judgment, and a finance stack that actually reflects how the business runs.
What You'll Do
Own end-to-end ERP implementations for Burkland clients, including chart of accounts design, module configuration, workflow automation, and user acceptance testing
Evaluate existing ERP environments and identify gaps, inefficiencies, or misconfigurations — then recommend and execute improvements
Support the monthly close process within client ERP systems, including journal entries, reconciliations, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial reporting
Manage data migrations from legacy systems (QuickBooks, Xero, spreadsheets) into modern ERP platforms
Oversee third-party integrations with tools like Stripe, Brex, Ramp, and Salesforce using native automation or iPaaS solutions
Deliver training sessions and create user documentation; proactively surface system improvements as clients grow
Stay current on platform releases, best practices, and the evolving startup finance tech stack
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
3–5+ years of ERP implementation or administration experience, with hands-on exposure to full-cycle implementations (not just end-user)
Strong foundation in GAAP accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting
Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Rillet; familiarity with other modern ERP or accounting platforms is a plus
Experience with core ERP modules: GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Multi-Book Accounting, and/or Advanced Revenue Management
Comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to translate technical system decisions for non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
ERP Administrator or Consultant certification (NetSuite, Rillet, or equivalent)
Experience with workflow automation, scripting, or integration tooling native to your platform
Familiarity with SaaS billing, payroll, CRM, or expense tool integrations
CMA designation
Why This Role
Our client's clients are some of the most funded startups in the US — and this role puts you at the centre of how they build their financial infrastructure. If you want meaningful ERP work, variety across industries, and the opportunity to be the expert in the room, this is it.
This role is open to Philippine citizens currently based in the Philippines.
