About the Client
Our client is a Canadian financial services and wealth-planning practice that provides financial advisory services, insurance solutions, retirement planning, investment planning, and wealth management support to individual and business clients. They are looking to build their offshore team to support their bookkeeping function. This role exists to ensure accurate financial recordkeeping, compliance reporting, and day-to-day accounting support across a growing portfolio of clients.
The Role
As an Intermediate Bookkeeper, you'll manage the day-to-day bookkeeping activities for multiple clients, ensuring financial records remain accurate, complete, and up to date. You'll be responsible for reconciliations, month-end processes, payroll support, government remittances, and financial reporting while working closely with the broader team to deliver exceptional client service. Success in this role comes from maintaining accuracy, meeting deadlines, and confidently managing multiple client files simultaneously.
What You'll Do
Prepare monthly and quarterly bookkeeping for multiple clients using accounting software platforms
Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, prepaids, and other balance sheet accounts
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as required
Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including adjusting journal entries
Manage fixed asset records, amortization schedules, acquisitions, and disposals
Process payroll transactions, government remittances, and employment-related reporting requirements
Prepare and file statutory remittances, including sales tax and employer-related obligations
Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting compliance requirements across client portfolios
What We're Looking For
2–4 years of bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting processes
Knowledge of payroll administration and statutory filing requirements
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines effectively
Nice to Have
Experience working in a multi-client or public accounting environment
Experience using Wave Accounting
Knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and compliance requirements
CPA designation or progress toward a CPA qualification
Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses
