About The Back Room
We exist to free our clients' time so they can focus on what they do best — growing their business. We deliver smart, efficient solutions that liberate teams from the everyday admin, and we hold ourselves to the same standard. Time is the ultimate currency, and we treat it like it.
About the Client
Our client is a public accounting and advisory firm based in California, USA, expanding its offshore team to support audit, tax, accounting, and advisory functions. This Graduate Accountant role will support financial reporting, compliance, and day-to-day accounting tasks across a diverse portfolio of privately held businesses, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals.
The Role
The Graduate Accountant will work closely with senior accountants and supervisors to perform transactional accounting, reconciliations, and assist with month-end processes. This is an entry-level position designed to build technical accounting skills, expose you to US accounting practices, and provide opportunities for professional development and progression within the team.
What You'll Do
Assist with daily bookkeeping and full-charge accounting tasks, including recording journals and posting transactions.
Prepare and review account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Support month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of basic financial reports.
Perform periodic cleanup work to ensure the general ledger is accurate and complete.
Collaborate with senior team members on audit, tax, and advisory engagements as required.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and standards.
Participate in training, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives to expand technical knowledge and efficiency.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates welcome).
Some exposure to accounting principles and basic bookkeeping; internships or university accounting projects are a plus.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) or willingness to learn new systems quickly.
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a commitment to accuracy.
Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Motivated to learn, open to feedback, and keen to pursue professional qualifications (e.g., CPA) in the future.
Why This Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional to gain hands-on experience within a US accounting environment while receiving mentorship from experienced colleagues. The role offers exposure to a variety of client types and accounting tasks, clear development pathways, and the chance to contribute to improving processes and controls.
This role is open to Philippine citizens currently based in the Philippines.
