What You'll Do
Plan and execute audit and assurance engagements for Canadian clients across various industries.
Review financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Perform audit procedures including substantive testing, analytical procedures, account reconciliations, and internal control testing.
Assess financial statement accounts such as cash, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, accounts payable, revenue, expenses, and equity.
Identify accounting issues, unusual transactions, and potential risks or misstatements.
Prepare and maintain audit working papers and supporting documentation.
Evaluate internal controls and identify control deficiencies or areas for improvement.
Ensure audit procedures comply with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and relevant professional requirements.
Apply Canadian ASPE or IFRS, depending on the client's reporting framework.
Assist with the preparation or review of financial statements and notes to financial statements.
Communicate audit findings, accounting issues, and recommendations to senior team members and clients.
Assist with audit completion, including subsequent events, going concern assessments, financial statement disclosures, and final review procedures.
Work collaboratively with managers, partners, and client accounting teams to meet engagement deadlines.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–5+ years of audit experience, depending on the level.
Experience with Canadian audit and accounting standards.
Knowledge of CAS, IFRS, and/or ASPE.
Familiarity with Canadian financial statement presentation and audit documentation.
Experience with audit software such as Caseware, Caseware Cloud, or similar platforms is an advantage.
CPA designation or CPA PEP/CPA program progress is an advantage.
Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
