About the Client
Our client is a Christchurch-based architectural practice delivering projects for clients throughout New Zealand.The practice works across a diverse range of sectors, including residential, commercial, community, iwi and hapū, and property development projects.
The Role
You will be involved in architectural design, construction detailing, technical documentation, 3D modelling and rendering, working closely with the wider team, clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Develop architectural designs from concept through to detailed documentation.
Prepare accurate architectural drawings, construction details, plans, elevations, sections, and schedules.
Produce detailed construction documentation suitable for building and consent purposes.
Develop 3D models, renders, and visual presentations to communicate design concepts effectively.
Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
Incorporate project requirements, site conditions, materials, and construction considerations into designs.
Review and coordinate architectural documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Assist with building consent and documentation requirements where required.
Manage multiple projects and meet agreed deadlines and project requirements.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience working as an Architectural Designer, Architectural Technician, or similar role.
Strong experience in construction detailing and architectural documentation.
Ability to produce accurate technical drawings and documentation.
Strong 3D modelling, rendering, and visual presentation skills.
Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes.
Ability to interpret design concepts and develop them into practical, buildable solutions.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work across a variety of project types and client requirements.
Nice to Have
Experience with the New Zealand Building Code and NZ building consent requirements.
Previous experience working on New Zealand residential or commercial projects.
Familiarity with NZ construction practices and documentation standards.
Experience working with clients, consultants, contractors, or developers in the NZ market.
Relevant qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
