Our client is one of the UK's leading accountancy and business advisory firms, supporting ambitious businesses, entrepreneurs, and private clients with accounting, tax, audit, and advisory services. They are continuing to grow their offshore team to support their cloud accounting operations and deliver high-quality financial services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
The Role
The Junior Resource Assistant supports the Resource Manager in the effective delivery of Audit services by coordinating diaries, schedules and resource allocations and Inboxes across teams and UK locations. The role helps manage changing priorities, sickness absence and unforeseen staffing requirements, ensuring resources are deployed efficiently to meet client and business needs.
Working closely with Audit teams and stakeholders, the Junior Resource Assistant provides proactive administrative support, maintains accurate scheduling information and assists with contingency planning to ensure smooth service delivery and optimal resource utilisation.
What You'll Do
Resource Performance & Delivery Oversight
Help monitor daily and intraday resource performance
Track delivery against targeted audit completion and delivery goals set by the Resource Manager identifying risks and opportunities early.
Support the wider teams by highlighting trends, bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
Task Allocation & Work Management
Support work allocation and redistribution across Audit to balance demand and capacity.
Assist Resource Manager with ensuring work is completed within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
Help repurpose capacity across Accounts, Wealth, KYC, Business Support and Tax in response to demand fluctuations.
Real-Time Intervention
Perform real-time and near-real-time reviews to identify dips in productivity, quality or throughput.
Support reactive problem solving by escalating risks, recommending corrective actions and supporting implementation.
Assist in managing peaks, seasonality and short-term demand surges through smart capacity adjustments.
Support with Reporting
Help produce accurate and timely data packs, dashboards and performance reports for internal stakeholders.
Support forecasting and demand planning by analysing historic trends, seasonality and workflow patterns.
SLA & Reviewer Collaboration
Support the assessment of SLA effectiveness and adherence across service lines.
Liaise closely with Resource Manager, supporting workload balance, throughput optimisation and issue resolution.
Enable performance improvements through collaboration, shared insight.
What We're Looking For
Essential
Strong analytical capability with a clear interest in performance management and data-led decision-making.
High attention to detail with the ability to work confidently with numbers, reports and dashboards.
Good understanding of workflow management, capacity planning or operational delivery (academic or practical).
Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with offshore and UK-based stakeholders.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Desirable
Exposure to professional services, offshore delivery or shared service models.
Experience using workforce management, MI or analytics tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI or similar).
Understanding of utilisation, productivity, SLAs and quality frameworks.
